Best Terms? It Helps to be a Hedge Fund

A new quarterly survey of lending by the Federal Reserve found that hedge funds and private-equity funds are getting better terms from lenders and that big banks have loosened lending standards generally in recent months. 

Our Take: Relaxation of abnormally tight lending standards for hedge funds could stimulate exchange volumes across asset classes and geographic regions.However, this is just one data point among many regarding overall lending activity, and the extension of credit to hedge funds is one of several variables affecting volume levels.
