Mark Gurliacci

Mark Gurliacci is a Senior Vice President and Global Head of Systematic Execution Services at AB, responsible for all algorithmic trading strategies and quantitative analysis for the Global Equities trading desks. He manages STAR, the firm's proprietary algo wheel, which systematically executes 88% of the orders that cross the equity trading blotters. Gurliacci is Chair of the firm's Algorithmic Trading Oversight Committee and is a member of the Best Execution, Liquidity Risk, and Swing Pricing Committees. Prior to joining AB, he was a vice president in the Securities Division at Goldman Sachs, where he published trading cost research, performed comprehensive trading cost analysis for the firm's institutional clients and advised clients on optimal trading strategies. Before that, Gurliacci was co-head of the Strategic Market Analysis Division of the New York Stock Exchange, with responsibility for the exchange's trading analytics and competitive analysis. At the 2024 Markets Choice Awards he won the Excellence in Equity Trading award and with his trading colleagues shared the Best Buy Side Equity Trading Desk award.
