• The 200 equities listed in both Canada and the US had average daily volume across both countries of 876.0 million shares in January (+4.83% m/m).
• Of this total, 600.1 million (+12.66% m/m) traded in the US and 275.9 million (-8.94% m/m) in Canada, for a US-CAD split of 68.5%-31.5%, the widest gulf between US and Canadian market share since we began this report in 2013.
• The US OTC market traded 3.09% of the total value in single-listed Canadian securities, down 12 bps m/m.
• Market-wide Canadian ADV (including single-listed names) fell 4.62% m/m (+20.47% y/y), to 1,079.8 million shares.
• Dark-pool market share increased 67 bps m/m (+40 bps y/y) to 6.17%
