  • Average daily value traded rose 11.72% m/m (+23.98% y/y) to €75.27 billion as volatility, measured by the VSTOXX average daily close, fell 5.85% m/m (+20.08% y/y) to 18.21.
  • OTC trading (+184 bps m/m) and closing auctions (+89 bps m/m) gained market share, while lit trading (-136 bps m/m), bank SIs (-46 bps m/m), dark MTFs (-41 bps), periodic auctions (-30 bps m/m), ELP SIs (-7 bps m/m) and opening auctions (-2 bps m/m) all lost ground.
  • Deutsche Börse (+74 bps m/m) and Borsa Italiana (+50 bps m/m) gained the most on-venue market share among European trading venues, while Euronext Amsterdam and Cboe DXE Europe tied (-27 bps m/m) for the biggest loss.
  • Among the major national listing exchanges we track, Nasdaq Stockholm (+389 bps m/m, SE 30), the London Stock Exchange (+272 bps m/m, UK 100) and Nasdaq Helsinki (+219 bps m/m, FI 25) gained the most market share in their home indexes. Only Borsa Italiana (-51 bps m/m, DK 25) lost market share.
  • Alternative closing auction mechanisms dropped 53 bps m/m, accounting for 6.04% of total on-venue end-of-day activity in November.
